After receiving my Bachelor of Exercise Science from the University of Arizona, I began my lifelong commitment toward Fitness/Wellness at the World Renown Canyon Ranch Spa in Tucson, AZ. I truly found my love for teaching water exercise at Canyon Ranch. Soon after, I was designing the water program at the Hyatt Gainey Ranch and became the Fitness Manager at the new Scottsdale Princess Resort and Spa.
After getting married and having two boys, I found myself getting whisked off to Valencia, California (for about 17 years). Once in Valencia, my world and opportunity for expansion in the Fitness industry grew exponentially. I worked for the Sports Club Company L.A., and was soon promoted to Member Service Specialist and Sales. It was from this experience that I realized I had a genuine knack for not only signing up, but keeping people accountable, and loved helping people find the time toward a healthy lifestyle.
I also opened the Paseo Club in Valencia, CA as the Fitness Director whose responsibilities included managing trainers, group x, aquatics and youth programs. As I ran the gym and other departments I also created Jodi’s Backyard Bootcamp, Flo Jod Run Club and triathlon training. which was awarded Elite Trainer and Business Woman of the year.
All of the positions that I have held and my continued community involvement followed as I moved back to Scottsdale to open Goddess Fit Women’s Gym Facility. Having an opportunity to have a safe and non-intimidating environment for women to workout was a blessing for the members and well received in the community.
My tenacity and hard work has brought me here today to Jodi Stokes Fitness, where I am able to go mobile as a Concierge Fitness Professional and help people to workout in their homes, pools and I also offer my services to LifeScape Premier. I have recently been honored by So Scottsdale as People to Watch, and Voyage Phoenix Magazine as a “Trailblazer” and "Shoutout" 2020.
My first book, "Water Exercise by Jodi" was published in April of 2020 and is dedicated to my Father who had Polio and experienced dramatic results in his balance, muscular strength and endurance for working in the water with me.

I have designed Jodi Stokes Fitness to go ABOVE and BEYOND personal training and offer holistic, personalized concierge fitness coaching. As a personal concierge fitness coach, I design programs that incorporate health, nutrition, and mental wellness. It’s about so much more than just building a person’s body!
My focus is to learn all I can about you - understanding everything I can about your current lifestyle, behaviors, personality, and goals. I want to know about your family, your habits, your work, the things that keep you up at night and the things that make you excited.
I work with each client to set attainable goals, develop sustainable skills, and build wellness-promoting behaviors that can be maintained for a lifetime. I work to develop a trust-based relationship that doesn’t end when a fitness session does.
It is a truly unique, personalized program. Our workout location, exercises, music, and coaching tactics are all based on individual client preferences. We work together to make exercise fun!
“Lack of time” is the biggest obstacle I hear for not being able to stick with a fitness routine. I certainly understand this challenge, and I have structured my business to help you overcome it. I will travel to you for each of our sessions. We can meet at your home, a gym nearby, or your favorite walking trail - the location of our workouts is just another level of individualization that I bring to each session.
There’s also no fancy equipment or gym necessary. If we want to try fun new equipment, great! But that is never a necessary part of my routines: I use equipment to enhance and challenge a workout, not define it.

I have been an on and off exerciser for many years, but I haven’t found an exercise program that I enjoy or look forward to as much as working out with Jodi. Jodi has a holistic approach to exercise - her workouts challenge you and push your limits and at the same time she creates an environment in which you want to work hard and you feel encouraged and supported doing so. As the weather warmed up, Jodi moved our workouts into the pool and these pool workouts have been a godsend over the hot Arizona summers. It is challenging to maintain a regular exercise program in the extreme heat of an AZ summer, but Jodi has found a way to provide her clients with consistent, challenging, and effective exercise with her water exercise program. I actually think my body and muscle tone has changed more significantly working out in the pool than it has doing other consistent exercise. At 67 years I only just started regular work outs after a two year hiatus. At Dr. Pozun's (LifeScape Premier AZ) request I started an exercise regimen w/ Jodi.
This kicked me into regular workouts and I am thrilled to see results with just 2 workouts/week at 25 minutes each. We do by phone, even when I am traveling with work or vacation. With minimal equipment and I can see my arms and legs toning nicely! My stamina, energy levels are way up AND my critical BP and Cholesterol numbers have decreased.
Jodi and I even signed up for the virtual Pat's Run this year to get me back into running. This is the best thing I have ever done for myself, I feel so much better!
